Ghost Treats
I Love making cute little treats. Last year, I made Frankenstein Fingers out of pretzel rods, melted white chocolate with green food coloring and a shaved almond for nails! I just saw these cute yogurt ghosts and thought they were pretty cute treats for kids and wanted to share! Click here for the video.
Pumpkins
On the Halloween topic, a quick tip to keep pumpkins from rotting as fast/keep squirrels away, rub them with petroleum jelly -Vaseline!
Loss
As I, myself am getting older, it’s been so hard to see my friends losing their parents. It’s a hard reality that’s setting in, and I have a hard time wrapping my head around it. I had 4 best girlfriends from High School, and 2 lost their dad’s this year. I just went home for the weekend for my friend, Sam’s dad’s funeral. She said he planned the whole thing, and it was truly a gift. She didn’t have to think about that during her grieving. I used to spend weekends driving to his house, which was 2-hours away, and we’d jam to Garth Brooks greatest hits or The Eagles greatest hits, so I leave you with this, call your parents if you can…and this one is for you, David!
This little bit on "Loss" 🎯, and may all those awesome memories help your friends & you through this this time of adjusting to not having that parent. My grandmother did this planning when I was in 5th grade and she passed my Freshman yr of HS. We didn't stress over what she 'would have wanted/liked' because she picked it out. My parents have their wishes documented, and my aunt. I'm convinced this is something, even though awkward (maybe hard), to be discussed. We got to talk & laugh about more memories & Grandma-isms, than what type of jello salad would be better. Also, remember when we were younger and someone passed away - you brought something to the family, does that still happen? Or have things like that faded away with time.
