I’ve never written a newsletter before, so I hope I can provide one weekly that gives you ideas, a laugh and maybe more!
This is where I started writing this, and then I realized it was too bright, and I couldn’t see my screen! LOL
I live in Minnesota, and I’ve been here for 10 years now. It’s truly my home. I’m from Indiana, and most of my family still lives there. It’s a small town called New Washington. I’ve worked in radio for 20 years now which is truly crazy to me. I started as a kid and have learned so much. I am still learning daily.
So what can you expect in my newsletter? I sent ideas to my buddy, Harry, and this is exactly what I messaged him:
I want to try to get to a few of these in each newsletter:
Trip Tips
Local Guides
On my mind this week
Things that made me happy this week
Things I want or bought
Videos that made me smile or think or cry
The most shocking thing of the week
Something to share with your friends
What’s On My Mind This Week?
Let’s start with this because it encompasses a couple of the others too. I have vacation next week, and I’ve been excited for this trip for a year. I went to Glacier last year with my husband, Jake’s family and ours. It was truly a magical trip. On that trip, we agreed we should do more, and I said we should do Yosemite/Tahoe the following year, which is now. We rented houses, and I can’t wait. I’m a little worried with the Yosemite fires.
I’ve done a lot of research on hikes, but I don’t do a lot of hiking, so I picked scenic/easier hikes. I’ll actually share what we did in Glacier on my next newsletter. I didn’t grow up going to national parks. I had a very typical midwestern family which means we always went to….FLORIDA!
Local Guide
I posted a video that blew up on TikTok a couple of weeks ago. I discovered the cutest coffee shop in Eden Prairie called Smith. It isn’t new, and I think it used to be a Dunn Brothers, but it’s new to me. Here’s a little video so you can check it out.

Things I Want or Bought
I’m currently in a “No Buy July” which just means I’m not doing quick clicks online. I’m not grabbing something random from Target I don’t need. etc
The little buys add up, and I picked July to PULL BACK! Lol
I did see these peonies from an online Instagrammer I follow @chrislovesjulia and wanted to get them. I didn’t, but peonies are my favorite flower. Their season is so short, and these looked SO real in the photos they posted. I thought I’d share with you.
This isn’t an affiliate link, but maybe I should get one to make some cash?! lol
Thank you!
I’m finding my way around this, so if you read this, thank you. I hope to get better, and would love any suggestions on things you’d like to see.
You’re off to a great start! Thank you for sharing your life with us listeners :)
This was great! I literally laughed out loud at I your truly Midwestern vacation comment as someone who also has never done the National Park thing but went to Florida every year!
