Does Listening to an Audio Book Count?
Happy Monday:) How have you been? I just got home from Chicago, and I'm tired, but pretty excited to watch the shows I missed this week. I did download the new movie “Look Both Ways” on Netflix to watch on the plane which I thought was cute!
Books I Recommend
Since I host a book club, I get asked ALL the time for book recommendations. I’m also asked how to join the book club. We don’t meet in-person as often as we used to, but we do sometimes. I have a Facebook group where I post all of the books, discussion questions and giveaways sometimes!
I always listen to books btw. I know some people say that isn’t reading, and I know it technically isn’t, but I think it counts. I find I retain the information better when I listen. I know for others, they retain it better from reading. It’s also nice because I have about a 25 minute drive into work and home each day.
As far as books go, I have a full list of almost every book we’ve read in book club on the Facebook page. These are the ones that I’ve enjoyed the most over the past 2-years.
My Lovely Wife - Samantha Downing
Night Circus - Erin Morgenstern
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo - Taylor Jenkins Reid
American Dirt - Jeanine Cummings
Part of Your World - Abby Jimenez (I need to read her others!)
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue - V.E. Schwab
Reminders of Him -Colleen Hoover (Yes, I did read Verity, but it was a few years back. Also great!)
Rude
I heard this recently, and I really liked it. Someone asked how to handle a situation when someone says something rude or hurtful to you. I’m usually in shock when it happens. I don’t even realize it happened until about 1 minute later. Of course, there are obvious times though, and I recommend this advice I heard. Ask the person to repeat what they said. Often, when the person is asked to repeat something rude or hurtful, they realize how rude/hurtful it is when they repeat it. Hopefully they do realize it, and they apologize.
Banana Bread I GOTTA Try
I haven’t tried this, so I hope it’s as good as it looks.
